IGNOU Samarth Portal 2026: Login, Student Services & Complete Guide

Samarth (samarth.ignou.ac.in) is IGNOU's unified digital platform that replaced the older fragmented system. All student services are now accessible through one login:

For Existing Students

1. Visit samarth.ignou.ac.in
2. Click "Student Login"
3. Enter your enrollment number (9 digits) as username
4. Enter your date of birth as password (format: DD-MM-YYYY)
5. Click "Login"

First time login: Your default password is your date of birth. After first login, you will be prompted to set a new password. Choose a strong password and save it.

For New Applicants

1. Visit ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in (separate URL for new admissions)
2. Click "New Registration"
3. Register with your mobile number and email
4. Verify via OTP
5. Fill the application form and submit

Forgot Password?

1. Click "Forgot Password" on the login page
2. Enter your enrollment number
3. OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number
4. Enter OTP and set a new password

Common issue: If you have not updated your mobile number with IGNOU, you cannot receive the OTP. Visit your Regional Centre with your ID card to update your mobile number first.

1. Exam Form / Exam Registration

Apply for the Term End Examination (TEE) through Samarth. Select the courses you want to appear for, choose your exam centre, and pay the exam fee (₹200 per course for theory, ₹500 for practicals). Deadline: typically 2 months before the exam date.

2. Hall Ticket Download

Download your IGNOU hall ticket (admit card) from Samarth 2-3 weeks before the exam. Go to Examination → Hall Ticket. Print it on A4 paper. You must carry the hall ticket to the exam centre along with your IGNOU ID card.

3. Assignment Status

Check whether your assignments have been received and evaluated. Go to Assignments → Assignment Status. Shows status for each course: Received, Evaluated (with marks), Pending, or Not Received.

4. Result & Grade Card

View your TEE results and download grade card. Go to Examination → Results. Complete result history across all semesters is available here.

5. Re-registration

6. Study Material Status

7. ID Card Download

Download your digital IGNOU student ID card. Go to Student Services → ID Card. Print on card stock paper. Valid for exam centre entry and student discounts.
