CAT Exam 2025: Result Out, Response Sheet, Eligibility

IIM Kozhikode will release the IIM CAT result 2025 on December 24, 2025, at 6 PM. The latest update regarding the release of the CAT result PDF was announced on iimcat.ac.in. Candidates who have appeared for the CAT exam 2025 on November 30, 2025, must keep their login credentials handy. The provisional answer key was released on 4 December 2025 by IIM Kozhikode. The objection window remains open until 10 December 2025, after which the final result will be announced.

CAT 2025 scorecard has been released available in PDF format on the official website iimcat.ac.in on December 24, 2025. Candidates have to use the CAT result 2025 login link from 6 PM onwards. CAT is valid for one admission cycle only, which means a candidate can use a CAT score for one year for admission to IIMs, or other top business schools. While many IIMs will allow candidates to put off admission for a year after proceeding through the selection process, those candidates who choose to skip can appear for CAT again without prior authorization to defer.

CAT 2025 application will be conducted online on the CAT official website. Applicants are required to register for the application, fill the application form, upload documents, and pay the application fee for test eligibility. CAT admit card is a compulsory document that candidates must carry to the examination centre on the test day. Below is the step-by-step process to download the CAT 2025 admit card:

1. Visit the official CAT website ( iimcat.ac.in)

2. Click on the Login button

3. Enter your CAT 2025 application number and password

4. Navigate to the Admit Card section

5. Click on the Download option

After downloading, candidates are required to take two printed copies of the admit card, as digital copies will not be considered valid at the exam centre. Along with the printed admit card, candidates must also carry:

• Two recent passport-size photographs

• A valid photo identification proof such as Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Passport, PAN Card, or Driving License

Failure to produce these documents may lead to denial of entry into the examination hall.

CAT 2025 Slot Timings

CAT 2025 exam will take place in three slots on the day of the exam. Candidates should arrive at their designated test centre within the specified reporting time to facilitate suitable entry and verification. No candidates will be permitted entry beyond the permitted time for any reason.

CAT 2025 answer key is most likely to be available within 2-3 days of the exam date. Candidates will also be able to download their individual response sheets to review their performance. Candidates can get the answer key by following the steps below:

• Go to the official CAT website (iimcat.ac.in)

• Click on the Login option

• Fill in your CAT 2025 application ID and password

• Click on the CAT 2025 Answer Key link which is shown on your screen

• Click on the download icon to download the answer key in PDF format

The provisional answer key and response sheet allow candidates to check the questions attempted and estimate their expected CAT scores. Candidates will also have the opportunity to challenge the official answer key if they find discrepancies. Candidates can start submitting objections from 8 December 2025 at 12:00 PM via the official CAT website using their login credentials. The objection submission facility will remain open until 10 December 2025 at 11:55 PM.

To raise objections, applicants must:

• Submit a supporting document for the question or answer being challenged

• Pay an objection fee of INR 1200 per question

The fee will be refunded only if the candidate’s objection is verified and accepted. The final CAT 2025 result will be prepared after evaluating all objections and answers.

In addition to assisting candidates with their exam prep, CAT previous years' question papers help determine exam styles, sectional weightage and the level of difficulty for questions. Candidates should work through at least the previous five years’ CAT exam papers to use for quality preparation and practice with accuracy in a real exam environment

CAT admission process to MBA and Postgraduate Management programs would include a case-by-case process of multiple evaluations. IIMs and other elite business schools or institutes identify candidates who are shortlisted based primarily on their CAT scores, followed by additional evaluation rounds with Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) or Personal Interview (PI). Each institute stipulates its own minimum percentile cutoff on CAT to begin to evaluate the next stage in the admissions process.

IIM Admission Process

Before the announcement of CAT results, every IIM made available the detailed admission policy, which includes cutoff percentiles, ways to evaluate candidates, processes for selection, and weightage for individual components.

• Screening of candidates on the basis of their CAT score

• Written Ability Test/Group Discussion/Personal Interview (WAT/GD/PI)

• Computation of Composite Score followed by final selection

Non-IIM Admission Process Through CAT

There are a number of non-IIM institutes that accept CAT scores. They, too, follow up with selection rounds (GD, WAT, PI) in the process of making final selections for MBA or PGDM courses.  Some business schools will give admission decisions based on the CAT score only, without any rounds of assessing factors such as personality.

Each IIM establishes its own CAT cutoff benchmark in terms of percentile based on category and admission criteria. Therefore, the qualifying cutoff for General category candidates is usually between 80-90 percentile, and the final admission cutoffs for the leading IIMs fall in the range of 98-100 percentile, and for the remaining IIMs final cutoffs are usually between 90-97 percentile. Candidates are called to the Personal Interview (PI) stage, based on these final cutoffs. Check below table for  CAT cutoff percentiles for all 21 IIMs:

The percentiles above apply to General category applicants. The cutoffs for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwD categories will be lower according to reservation rules.

CAT scores are accepted by 21 IIMs across India for MBA, PGP, PhD, and Executive programs. The table below includes a list of IIMs accepting CAT scores, the IIMs flagship programs, as well as management programs typically offered by the IIMs.

CAT exam 2025 preparation has entered the last phase. With less than a month for the exam, candidates are required to do the following:

Choosing the right books and study materials is crucial for CAT preparation. The following list includes standard books, authors, and online resources that cover essential topics, strategies, and mock practice to strengthen overall performance across all three CAT sections.

Students often believe that the only way to get into an MBA program is to pass the CAT test. However, this does not hold for online MBA degrees. Many of the top universities offer online MBA and management degrees that do not require students to complete the CAT exam. But rather evaluate applicants based on their academic record, work history, or another entrance exam.

The choice of a specific university when selecting to pursue an online MBA degree is important because it ensures that the student receives a quality education along with excellent faculty and sufficient help in finding internships.
