ReviewGuidelines
Your honest review can help another student make one of the most important decisions of their life.
Why Your Review Matters
College brochures and websites only tell one side of the story. Student reviews fill the gap by sharing what campus life is actually like — the quality of teaching, the hostel food, whether placements live up to the hype, and everything in between. When you write a review on Padhaao, you are directly helping a student in a similar position to yours make a better, more informed choice.
How to Write a Helpful Review
- Be Specific:Instead of "the college is good", describe what is good. Mention faculty responsiveness, lab quality, placement support, Wi-Fi availability, canteen food, or library hours — specifics help other students form a clear picture.
- Cover Multiple Aspects: A great review touches on academics, infrastructure, placements, campus life, fees, and any other factor that influenced your experience. Think about what you wish you had known before joining.
- Be Balanced: Share both the positives and the areas for improvement. One-sided reviews (all praise or all complaints) are less trusted and less useful to readers.
- Be Honest: Write about your genuine experience. Exaggeration — positive or negative — undermines the trust the entire community depends on.
- Include Context: Mention your course, year of admission, and whether you are a current student or alumnus. This helps readers weigh your review appropriately.
- Be Respectful: Critique the institution and its systems, not individual people. Avoid naming specific faculty or staff members in a negative light.
What We Do Not Allow
To keep Padhaao a trusted platform for students, the following content is not permitted in reviews:
- False or deliberately misleading claims about an institution
- Hate speech, casteist remarks, discriminatory language, or personal attacks
- Spam, promotional content, advertisements, or referral links
- Personally identifiable information about other students, staff, or faculty
- Obscene, vulgar, or threatening language
- Content that violates intellectual property rights or applicable Indian laws
- Reviews written by someone who has not attended the institution
- Incentivised reviews — reviews written in exchange for payment or other benefits
Our Moderation Process
Every review submitted on Padhaao goes through moderation before it is published. Our moderation team checks each review against the policies above. Reviews that meet our guidelines are published without changes. Reviews that contain minor policy violations may be edited for compliance (for example, removing a named individual). Reviews with serious violations are rejected, and the reviewer is notified with an explanation.
Reporting a Review
If you come across a published review that you believe violates our guidelines — whether it contains false information, personal attacks, or spam — please report it using the flag icon on the review card, or email us at support@padhaao.com with the review link and a brief description of the issue. We review all reports and take action within 48 hours.
For Institutions
We understand that negative reviews can be frustrating. Institutions are welcome to respond to reviews on their profile page. However, we do not remove genuine negative reviews at the request of an institution. If you believe a review contains factually incorrect information, please email us with evidence and we will investigate.
