CollegeRankings
Transparent, multi-factor rankings built for students — not advertisers.
Why Rankings Matter
With thousands of colleges in India, choosing the right one can feel overwhelming. Rankings give you a structured starting point — but only if they are built on the right criteria. Many existing rankings rely heavily on reputation surveys or institutional self-reporting, which can be gamed. Padhaao takes a different approach.
Our Ranking Philosophy
We rank colleges based on what actually matters to a student making a decision: Will I get a good education? Will I get placed? Is the campus experience worthwhile? Can my family afford it? Our ranking system is designed around these questions — not institutional prestige or advertising spend.
Ranking Criteria
- Academic Quality (30%): Faculty qualifications, student-to-teacher ratio, accreditation status (NAAC, NBA), research output, and programme recognition by regulatory bodies like UGC and AICTE.
- Student Outcomes (25%): Placement rates, median and highest salary packages, percentage of students placed, higher education progression rates, and notable alumni achievements.
- Student Experience (20%): Verified student review scores on our platform, campus life quality, extracurricular opportunities, hostel and mess satisfaction, and overall student well-being indicators.
- Value & Accessibility (15%): Total cost of attendance vs. placement outcomes (ROI), scholarship availability, fee transparency, and financial aid policies.
- Infrastructure (10%): Library and lab facilities, digital infrastructure, sports and recreation amenities, campus connectivity, and hostel quality.
Data Sources
Our rankings draw from multiple sources to reduce bias and improve accuracy: official NIRF data, NAAC and NBA accreditation reports, institutional websites, government datasets, verified student reviews on Padhaao, and proprietary survey data. We cross-check information wherever possible. For a full breakdown, see our Data & Methodology page.
How to Use Rankings
Rankings are a starting point, not the final answer. A college ranked #1 overall might not be the best fit for your specific course, budget, or location preferences. We recommend using rankings alongside college profiles, student reviews, and counsellor guidance to make a well-rounded decision.
