Bhimavaram Institute of Engineering & Technology was established in the year 2007 under the aegis of Swaranabharathi Educational Trust. It is a private college which is situated in Pennada, Andhra Pradesh. The college has been affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada. It has been recognised by UGC and has also been approved by the AICTE, New Delhi. The institute is situated at Pennada, 6 km from Bhimavaram, on the Palakol and Pamarru Road, in a calm and pollution-free area. The campus, which is located on 20 acres of beautiful terrain, provides the perfect setting for academic endeavours. Road and rail connections are excellent. The facilities—labs, classrooms, information centre, etc. are specially created and constructed to give students a stress-free setting in which to further their intellectual development.

The Bhimavaram Institute of Engineering & Technology courses are offered to interested candidates at the diploma, undergraduate as well as postgraduate levels. There are a total of 10 courses offered to students in the stream of engineering and technology. The majority of college courses are available to students in a regular, offline mode. The Bhimavaram Institute of Engineering & Technology admission is offered to all of its programmes based on a candidate's performance in the relevant entrance exam and the most recent qualifying exam. The college accepts a number of entrance tests for admission, including AP POLYCET (for diploma degrees), AP EAMCET (for B.Tech. courses), and GATE/AP PGCET (for M.Tech. courses).

Every year, major recruiters like Infosys, IBM, Tech Mahindra, HCL, Capgemini and more participate in the BIET Bhaimavaram placement drive. In 2024, 10 recruiters participated in the placement drive of the institute and 105 job offers were made towards the 82 registered students.
