Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar was established in 2008. It is one of the new gen IITs. It is located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. IIT Gandhinagar is the only institute from Gujarat that has been ranked among the top 1000 universities in the world. It has been identified as an institute of National importance by the Government of India. IIT Gandhinagar offers a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in fields such as engineering, science, and humanities. UG courses like BTech, PG courses in MTech, MSc and MA. In the NIRF rankings 2024, IIT Gandhinagar achieved the 29 position in the 'Overall' category. In the 'Overall' category, IIT Gandhinagar ranked in the top 50 in the country for the 3rd consecutive year in 2024.

Admission for MTech for this year has closed, GATE applications for 2026 will start from August 2025 and the exam will be conducted in February 2026. For BTech admissions, JoSAA counseling is almost at its conclusion, the registered candidates can check their cutoff from the official site. IIT Gandhinagar achieved a 76.22% placement rate in 2024. The overall average package in 2023 was higher at 19.60 LPA. In 2024, IIT Gandhinagar top recruiters are from various sectors, including technology, consulting, finance, and banking.
