NTA uses a normalization methodto calculate CUET percentiles because the exam is held in multiple shifts across different days. This ensures students who appeared in an easier shift don't have an unfair advantage.
NTA Percentile Formula:
Percentile = (Number of candidates who scored ≤ your score ÷ Total candidates) × 100Your raw score is first converted to a normalized NTA score using the distribution of scores across all shifts. Then the percentile is computed from this normalized score. NTA releases both raw scores and normalized scores in the official CUET UG result.
Note: NTA does NOT release individual CUET ranks. Universities create their own merit lists based on the NTA normalized score / percentile. Our rank estimates are derived from the percentile × total appeared calculation.
