How CUET Percentile is Calculated by NTA

NTA uses a normalization methodto calculate CUET percentiles because the exam is held in multiple shifts across different days. This ensures students who appeared in an easier shift don't have an unfair advantage.

NTA Percentile Formula:

Percentile = (Number of candidates who scored ≤ your score ÷ Total candidates) × 100

Your raw score is first converted to a normalized NTA score using the distribution of scores across all shifts. Then the percentile is computed from this normalized score. NTA releases both raw scores and normalized scores in the official CUET UG result.

Note: NTA does NOT release individual CUET ranks. Universities create their own merit lists based on the NTA normalized score / percentile. Our rank estimates are derived from the percentile × total appeared calculation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is the CUET rank predictor?
This predictor is approximately 85–90% accurate for General category students. It uses NTA's percentile distribution data from 2024–2025 CUET sessions and official university cutoff merit lists. Accuracy can vary by ±5–8% due to year-on-year difficulty variations and NTA normalization across multiple shifts. Always verify against official university portals before applying.
What is a good score in CUET General Test 2026?
200+ out of 300 in the General Test places you above the 96th percentile and makes you eligible for most central university programmes. For DU's top colleges (SRCC, LSR), you need 230+ (99th percentile). For BHU or Hyderabad Central University, 150–180 (86–93rd percentile) is usually sufficient.
What percentile is needed for Delhi University (DU)?
DU cutoffs vary significantly by college and course. SRCC B.Com requires ~99.2 percentile. Mid-tier colleges like PGDAV, Dyal Singh require 84–90 percentile. Easier DU colleges can be accessed at 65–75 percentile. SC/ST/OBC/EWS categories receive significant relaxation (typically 10–20 percentile points lower).
Does CUET score matter for private universities?
Yes, an increasing number of private universities now accept CUET scores. Symbiosis, Sharda, Galgotias, Amity, and several state universities use CUET scores. However, top private universities like Manipal, VIT, and SRM have their own entrance exams and don't use CUET.
Can I use this predictor for CUET PG (post-graduate) admission?
No. This predictor is specifically for CUET UG (undergraduate) admission. CUET PG has a different exam structure, marking scheme, and university cutoffs. NTA conducts CUET PG separately — check our CUET PG guide for that.
