Overview of IIT Jodhpur

Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur, popularly known as IIT Jodhpur is one of the prominent new generations IITs which was established in 2008 in the city of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. It offers various courses like BTech, MTech, PhD, MBA, etc. Admission to this institute takes place through national level exams like JEE Advanced, GATE, CAT, etc followed by JoSAA, CCMT/ CCMN counselling. Admissions for MTech for this year has closed, GATE applications for 2026 will start from August 2025 and the exam will be conducted in February 2026. For BTech admissions, JoSAA counseling is almost at its conclusion, the registered candidates can check their cutoff from the official site. The IIT Jodhpur fees range from 1 Lakh to 5 Lakh, and its fee structure varies from programme to programme. 

IIT Jodhpur campus has a sprawling residential permanent campus of 852 acres. As the institute focuses both on theoretical and practical knowledge, a lab facility is provided to students of each branch.The highest placement rate at IIT Jodhpur was seen in B.Tech (CSE) with 98%, followed by B.Tech (ME) with 97.8%. More than 280 companies took part in the 2024 placements, some of the top recruiters included Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle, Flipkart, Mercedes Benza. Over 380 jobs were offered to students. The M.Tech. program had a placement rate of 82%, and the MBA program saw a placement rate of 90%. The highest package offered was Rs 24.81 LPA, while the average package was of Rs 11.77 LPA. 

As per the rankings, the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (IIT Jodhpur) has achieved an NIRF rank of 27 in the Engineering category with a score of 61.31. In terms of category-wise rankings, IIT Jodhpur NIRF rank of 98 in the Manegement category with a score of 45.02.
